Pastor A.J. Quinton
Senior Pastor of Diakonos Ministries
For over 35 years, Pastor A. J. Quinton has faithfully served the Austin community as a pastor, mentor, educator, and advocate. Through Diakonos Ministries, he leads with a mission of servant-hearted ministry, helping individuals and families discover resilience and purpose.
Leadership & Service
Pastor Quinton is the Program Coordinator for Child Inc.’s Parent Father Empowerment Program, a Faith-Based Engagement Consultant, and host of The Dad Show. Previously, he served as Manager/Facilitator for Child Inc.’s Family Engagement and Healthy Relationships Programs.
Diakonos Ministries
As the founder and Executive Director of Diakonos-A House of Servants, Pastor Quinton offers community enrichment and support programs aimed at personal and family development.
Community & Professional Involvement
Pastor Quinton collaborates with organizations like the African American Youth Harvest Foundation, EMBRACE Ministries, and the National Fatherhood Initiative. He also serves as Chaplain for the University of Texas Police Department and is a certified facilitator in marriage, relationship, and fatherhood counseling.

June 2005
Founding of Diakonos Ministries
Diakonos Ministries was founded as a non–denominational fellowship of Christians in the state of Texas.
June 12, 2005
First Worship Service
Held at Rosewood Recreation Center, the inaugural service quickly exceeded capacity.
August 2007
Historic Move to Doris Miller Auditorium
Diakonos moved services to the larger Doris Miller Auditorium, becoming the first church to hold regular worship in this historic space.
March 2020
New Locations
The congregation continued to grow, moving first to 9414 Parkfield Drive and later to LBJ High School, where worship services were held prior to Covid.
Present
Temporary Worship
Currently, Diakonos holds services at the Turner Roberts Recreation Center, another City of Austin facility, as it pursues a permanent worship center.
